The Walk

A bizarre one this; we "bagged" two tops without having to visit them at all. As a result of some research into historical counties I discovered two new administrative counties: Huntingdonshire & Peterborough and Cambridgeshire & Isle of Ely. Both counties had been created in 1966 from the mergers of other counties, but existed for a mere nine years before being abolished (presumably because of their cumbersome monikers!).

Fortunately we'd already visited the highest points in these "new" counties whilst we were bagging the county tops of Huntingdonshire and Cambridgeshire. So my diligent research had earned us another couple of county tops without having to even go outside! Hurrah!
